Lucy holds a Bachelor of Science in Insurance and Pensions Management from the University of Lusaka and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration. She is an active member of the Insurance Institute of Zambia (IIZA) and the Women in Insurance and Pensions Association of Zambia (WIPAZ).

Lucy Mwango Tembo has over five years of experience in the reinsurance industry. She commenced her career as a graduate trainee through the Young Insurance Professional Program (YIPP) at ZEP Re (PTA Reinsurance Company), a leading reinsurance firm in Africa. During her one-year tenure under the ZEP Re Academy initiative, she gained foundational expertise, subsequently advancing to the role of Underwriting Assistant. In this capacity, she undertook additional responsibilities, including serving as an interim Underwriter and Claims Handler for the COMESA Yellow Card and RCTG programs.

Lucy furthered her career at Klapton Reinsurance Limited, a multinational reinsurance company, where she worked as a Facultative Underwriter. In this role, she managed the Zambian market and was responsible for overseeing select business partners across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. This international exposure significantly enriched her professional experience.
