The Organization of Eastern and Southern Africa Insurers (OESAI) Conference, a significant event held from 4 August to 7 August 2024 in Vic Falls, Zimbabwe, was a gathering of key players in the insurance and reinsurance industry, including [list of key players].

Fin Re was represented by our Managing Director, Dr. Webster Twaambo Jr., Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Tionge Simbeye, Head of Technical Operations, Mr. Herfty Muzyamba, and Underwriting Manager, Mr. Nkandu Mwewa.

During the conference, our team engaged in various progressive meetings with key partners, including Southern Pacific Insurance Corporation (SOPAC), Howden Re (UAE), Munich Re, Maksure Risk Solutions, Neema Insurance Managing Agent, CG Re, Tan Re, Guy Carpenter, Reinsurance Solutions, Protection Re, Pioneer Insurance & Fidelidade Insurance (Mozambique), Reinsurance Brokers, City & Commercial Insurance (UK), Makhaly Re, Mukfin, and many others.

These discussions were key to developing our partnerships and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.

Our MD was invited to participate in a panel discussion on Innovation and Growth: Expanding the Contribution of Agriculture Insurance towards Economic Development. Dr. Twaambo shared from his personal re/insurance experience spanning over 20 years, specifically his contribution as being part of the consortium of insurers that rolled out the area yield insurance scheme covering over 1,000 farmers under the Zambian government’s Farmers Input Support Programme (FISP).
